What is the duration of the internship?

This internship will be an on-site role at BioLegend Inc. in San Diego, CA.
Will I need to arrange housing and transportation during the internship?
Yes, all selected interns will be required to obtain their own housing, travel, and transportation accommodations for the full duration of the internship program.
What types of tasks will I be doing during the internship?
Interns will prepare and stain samples for flow cytometry, analyze samples, conduct data analysis and interpretation, fill out documentation, and maintain laboratory records.
What educational background is required for this internship?
Candidates must be currently enrolled or in the process of completing a BS/BA degree in a life sciences related program.
How much laboratory experience is required?
A minimum of 6 months of laboratory experience, either in a classroom setting or other, is required.
What are the preferred qualifications for this internship?
Preferred qualifications include knowledge of cell culture, handling of tissue or blood samples, and familiarity with microscopy, fluorescence staining, and antibody applications.
What types of equipment will I be using during the internship?
Potential equipment includes various types of flow cytometers, fluorescent microscopes, cell counters, and plate readers.
What is the salary range for this internship?
The salary range for the Summer Internship position is $22.00/hr for Sophomore/Freshman standing, up to $25.00 - $26.00/hr for current Master’s students.
Will I receive any additional training during the internship?
Yes, interns will gain real-world experience and solid knowledge of antibody development, cell culture, immunofluorescence staining, multicolor flow cytometry, and live cell imaging.
