Responsibilities

  • nalyzing and processing of business documents; analysis of accounting and financial data in order to prepare proper financial statement journal entries; preparation of general ledger account reconcilements; preparation of tax information; testing SOX and Non-SOX controls in auditing; and assistance in preparing budgets. Additionally, you will be given the opportunity to interface with a variety of departments outside of the Controller's Organization, developing a collaborative relationship with individuals within those departments.
  • Should you choose a career with Marathon, additional responsibilities will be added as you progress in your career. These include more complex accounting and analysis activities, and the presentation of new ideas and concepts in formal meetings. Creative thought in enhancing existing accounting processes, or in the development of new processes to enhance efficiency, is encouraged.
