Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 full year of law school experience (at commencement of Internship).
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, communication, negotiating, drafting and problem-solving skills
  • Very strong attention to detail
  • Sound judgment with the ability to balance legal risk and business impact in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well with a small, tightly-knit team, and the range to deal effectively with everyone from senior management to operations and store personnel
  • Ability and desire to seek responsibility and work autonomously. Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously with strong follow-up
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Retail and consumer products experience preferred. Beauty industry experience a plus
  • Excellent references

Responsibilities

  • Partner with attorney and paralegal team to support current company initiatives, e.g., SEPHORiA, new store openings, and lease compliance;
  • Assist with drafting of brand agreements, leases, and amendments ;
  • Research and summarize recent updates in a key area of law, e.g., recent FTC or FDA actions related to the beauty industry;
  • Update and organize legal templates and Real Estate Clausebook as needed; and
  • Special projects, as assigned.
