Requirements

  • Must be willing to work 12 hours per week during normal business hours; can be flexible with scheduling
  • Must be currently enrolled in a degree-seeking undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited college or university and maintaining at least a 3.0 GPA (3.5 GPA for graduate students)
  • Prior internship experience preferred
  • An interest in the insurance industry preferred
  • Proficient with standard office computer tools; i.e. Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, etc.
  • Ability to work in a positive team environment and independently
  • Must be comfortable working with proprietary information and be able to maintain confidentiality
  • High level of attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to prioritize is required
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Perform entry level, professional duties in one of the Corporate functions, such as: Client Services or Business Development.
  • Duties may include gathering and organizing data to provide information for departmental special projects or reports; basic arithmetic computations; preparing written reports; accompanying professional level employees on assignments
  • Maintain data and client records in agency management system
  • Process client requests for services and submit information to the appropriate parties
  • Serve to offer practical experience and broad exposure to the organizational structure
  • Apply research techniques and analytical methods to the study of administrative systems, organizational structures, policies and procedures
  • Conduct special studies in conjunction with a project, analyze data and make recommendations based upon studies
  • Be responsible for project assignments, research and analysis
  • Prepare project reports, progress summaries, statistical analysis and related data
  • Analyze, generate and maintain records and other reference material necessary for departmental use
  • Answer and make phone calls, respond to program related questions and send written material when appropriate
  • Compose, type and print reports, general letters, spreadsheets, email, and memoranda from rough drafts or general instructions, involving the assembly of data from computer and paper files or records
  • Review issued policies, endorsements, and audits for accuracy and forward to clients
  • Utilize current department specific software to complete assignments; these may include: MS Office Suite, Adobe Suite, Business Management Software, or others
  • Assist with special projects in the office as requested
