Requirements

  • Essential skills and experience:
  • Must have an expected graduation date in Spring 2023, Fall 2023, Spring 2024, or Fall 2024 with a BS degree from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program
  • Solid understanding of basic statics and strength of materials.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Self-Starter, proactive, able to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions and meet deadlines.
  • Valued but not required skills and experience:
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or the community
  • Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred
  • Prior, related internship or co-op experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform various drafting/design tasks as a member of a project team under the direct supervision of the project design lead
  • You will have the opportunity to apply your computer-aided drafting skills, while receiving hands-on training in 3D design software environments, such as AutoCAD 3D and/or MicroStation
  • Additionally, you will receive training in Sargent & Lundy’s award-winning, industry-recognized proprietary 3d plant design platform
  • You will be involved in the preparation and completion of project documents
  • You may accompany and assist experienced designers on walkdowns at client facilities to gather information for your design project
  • While interfacing with the different design disciplines to coordinate over all plant design
