Requirements

  • Student of Sports Medicine, Orthopedic/Biomedical Engineering, Physiotherapy, Sports Science, Biomechanics, Sports Engineering, Data Analytics, or similar fields.
  • Enrolled as a full-time student for the complete duration of the internship.
  • Or in the so-called gap year between Bachelor and Master’s degree (gap year regulation only applicable to EU citizens due to working permit regulations).
  • Passion for sports and in-depth knowledge of specific sports beneficial.
  • Familiar with product creation processes, including materials and components is beneficial.
  • Basic understanding of anatomy and biomechanics.
  • Data analytics mindset with knowledge of data analysis techniques and tools.
  • Advanced IT skills, including Office365, data analysis software (e.g., MATLAB, Python, …), and CAD software (e.g., Rhino); engineering software (e.g., Grasshopper) is advantageous.
  • Fluent in English & excellent communication skills.
  • Enrolled as full-time student for the complete duration of the internship.
  • Or in the so-called gap year between Bachelor and Master’s degree (gap year regulation only applicable to EU citizens due to working permit regulations).
  • Candidates in penultimate year of study preferred (following the internship, students should have maximum one year to graduate).
  • Availability for the full duration of the internship from September 2025 – March 2026.
  • Ability to relocate to Herzogenaurach in Germany for the full duration of the internship.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in daily lab operations and equipment maintenance, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning. Support assessment and data collection processes to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Help to understand athlete needs and requirements, document and analyze data to prepare comprehensive reports and insights. Support mobile setups and equipment handling for on-the-road assessments.
  • Collect, manage, and analyze data related to athletes, products, and performance. Ensure accurate data handling, structure, entry, and storage to maintain data integrity.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and insights related to elite athletes. Prepare detailed reports and presentations based on findings to inform decision-making.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating athlete visits at HQ and sport events. Collaborate with team members to ensure athletes receive optimal support and maintain accurate records of athletes’ data and feedback.
