Requirements

Specialised business and technical knowledge:
The successful candidate should be able to learn quickly, organize their work effectively, pay attention to detail, and have the ability to adapt to their environment.
Education and Experience:
The successful candidate will be a law student in the process of qualifying in France, the UK or another European jurisdiction or a recently qualified lawyer with a strong academic record.
Previous legal experience, in particular investment funds experience, is a plus but not essential.
Excellent knowledge of English is required, fluency in French is a plus but not essential.
Communication Scope:
The successful candidate will have to communicate and interact with the other legal departments of the Ardian Group.
He or she will also have to work and liaise with a number of other departments, including Investment teams, Fund Finance, Investor Relations, Tax, and Compliance.
He or she will also have to communicate and interact with external legal counsel.

Responsibilities

Providing legal support on the creation, structuring and management of funds (including UK limited partnerships and Luxembourg structures),
Participating in the preparation and drafting of relevant fund documentation,
Participating in negotiations with external investors and service providers,
Collaborating with and providing legal support to other departments
Assisting and preparing minutes of investment committees and board meetings,
Monitoring legal and regulatory developments,
Conducting legal research on topics relevant to the legal team’s activities,
Assisting on IT projects the legal team is involved in.
Conduct Rule Staff:
Ensure compliance with all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements applicable to the role.
Understand the Individual Conduct Rules set out by the UK Regulator and ensure compliance in letter and in spirit.
