Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree
Demonstrated skill in reading and understanding case law, contracts, pleadings, and other legal documents
Strong computer skills; proficient in PC environment with Westlaw, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Ability to write clearly and be focused on actionable and reasonable results
Ability to think critically through recognizing assumptions, evaluating arguments, and drawing conclusions.
Some knowledge of insurance and/or service contract industries (is a plus)
Some experience with research and analysis of state and federal statutes, regulations, and court opinions on business practices and procedures
Ability to maintain composure and deliver results while under pressure managing multiple assignments and priorities.
Ability to learn quickly and apply abstract ideas to achieve measurable results.
GPA requirement - 3.0

Responsibilities

Work with the in-house legal department on a wide variety of legal matters and disciplines, including, but not limited to: Preparing document summaries and templates of key legal documents, drafting policies and procedures, conducting document reviews and legal research
Partner with attorneys to solve problems, assess risks, and propose strategies
Assist the legal division with legal research projects and handle other tasks as needed, including, drafting of contractual amendments and memos summarizing research findings and/or opinions
Ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements
