What is the pay range for the Graduate Student Intern position?
The pay range for this position is $6,620 - $8,040 monthly.
What are the qualifications required for this internship?
Candidates must be continuing college or university students in good standing pursuing a graduate degree or recent graduates with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemistry, materials sciences, computational chemistry, or a related field.
Is there an eligibility requirement for accessing the laboratory?
Yes, candidates must be eligible to access the Laboratory in compliance with Section 3112 of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).
What type of research will I be conducting as an intern?
As an intern, you will conduct research in fields such as organic/inorganic synthesis, materials characterization, electrochemistry, and computational chemistry, among others.
Are there opportunities to present my work?
Yes, interns will have opportunities to present their work through presentations and/or poster sessions.
What skills are desirable for this position?
Broad knowledge of chemistry and materials, a GPA of 3.0 or above, along with effective communication and teamwork skills are desirable.
Will I need a security clearance for this position?
No security clearance is required; however, if your assignment exceeds 179 days cumulatively within a calendar year, you will need to go through the Personal Identity Verification process.
