Requirements

  • Education:
  • University degree in Life Sciences or related discipline is required
  • Current enrollment in a graduate degree program (PhD or MSc) or a professional degree program (PharmD, MBA) at McMaster University is required
  • Current enrollment in the Janssen McMaster Diverse Future Leaders Program is required
  • Experience and Skills:
  • Available for a 12-week, intense internship, starting May 6, 2024

Responsibilities

  • Acquire knowledge in various disease therapeutic areas and across different functions of the Janssen organization
  • Provide project management assistance for various Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, and/or Access activities and functions such as Medical Science, Medical Education, Medical Information, Medical Excellence, Government Affairs, and Strategic Stakeholder Engagement
  • Strategically monitor literature and competitive landscape to uncover opportunities and ensure timely internal communications
  • Assist with the development of scientifically balanced presentations and materials across functional areas
  • Become familiar with medical writing and publication activities
  • Through a fresh lens, assess how emerging data may contribute to the therapeutic area strategy and how they may impact or be utilized by functional areas, such as Regulatory Affairs and Market Access
  • Assist with the planning and execution of defined local evidence generation activities
  • Coordinate Medical Science pre- and post-congress activities by tracking key data presentations
  • Become familiar with a variety of Canadian activities, including in the areas of clinical studies, medical education, Regulatory Affairs, and Market Access
  • Collaborate with internal teams on specific projects
  • Become familiar with critical departmental processes
  • Be an active member of the therapeutic area Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Access and cross-functional teams through interactive engagements
  • Shadow Feld personnel on field visits with external stakeholders (as available/applicable)
