What is the duration of the internship?
The internship is a 10-week program that takes place from June 2, 2025, to August 8, 2025.
Is the internship remote or in-person?
The internship is a hybrid format, which includes both remote work and assigned office days set by your manager.
Where will the internship be based?
The internship can be based out of either Walnut Creek, CA, or Houston, TX.
What are the required qualifications for applicants?
Applicants must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program majoring in Telecommunications, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related fields, with a graduation date between December 2026 and June 2028.
Is prior experience with TCP/IP protocols necessary?
Yes, coursework or demonstrated experience in TCP/IP protocols is required.
Are there any preferred qualifications for this position?
Preferred qualifications include knowledge of LAN, WAN, and MPLS systems, experience with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite, strong written and communication skills, and familiarity with report automation tools like Tableau, among others.
Is there travel required for this internship?
Yes, the intern must be willing to travel and work in an assigned Verizon office.
What type of tasks will the intern be responsible for?
Interns will manage internal and external partners, assist engineers with process improvements, oversee mechanical components, and implement various construction projects, among other responsibilities.
What is the compensation for the internship?
The compensation range for this position is between $25/hour and $31/hour, varying based on role and class year.
