Responsibilities

  • Analyze the 3D solid models (NX CAD) of the new designs concurrently, during development, within the digitized twin of the existing product to thwart fit/alignment issues and identify improvement opportunities (i.e. cost, sourcing, producibility, manufacturability, configurability, cycle time, logistics, start-up, maintenance, etc.)
  • Develop the manufacturing strategy in alignment with the planned marketing and existing supply chain strategies
  • Transform new designs into effective Product Option Structures that produce Bills Of Material (BOM) that support how it will be marketed, configured, sourced, manufactured, shipped and started up
  • Partner with the central tooling design organization to develop and procure manufacturing specific tooling
  • Develop storyboard style manufacturing documentation for supply chain and manufacturing technicians
  • Partner with Volume Test Manufacturing Engineers to create test fixtures & procedures
