What is the NOFRILLS - Pathway to Franchising program?
The NOFRILLS - Pathway to Franchising program is a National program that develops future NOFRILLS Franchise Owners through experiential and academic training, helping individuals gain the necessary skills and experience to apply for a franchise opportunity.
What are the travel requirements for this position?
Candidates must be willing and able to travel nationally for the duration of the program and may need to relocate provincially and nationally for franchise opportunities as business needs arise.
What type of experience is required for applicants?
Applicants must have a minimum of three (3) years of managerial experience and five (5) years in the grocery retail industry, along with a solid understanding of grocery retail operations.
Is previous experience with NOFRILLS necessary?
While previous experience working within a NOFRILLS store is an asset, it is not mandatory to apply for the program.
What kind of training will participants receive?
Participants will engage in formal mentorship, shadow current Franchisees, attend in-class training modules, complete assigned projects, and organize community events to gain leadership and entrepreneurial skills.
What kind of support will participants offer to NOFRILLS franchise locations?
Participants will be involved in supporting strategic banner initiatives, assisting with operational special projects, and actively running stores to facilitate business transitions.
What qualifications must candidates possess?
Candidates must have a valid driver’s license, access to a vehicle, and at least a High-School diploma or equivalent. Post-secondary education or formal training in merchandising and/or business management is considered an asset.
Are there specific software skills required for this position?
Yes, candidates must have excellent knowledge of store systems (such as SAP, STAS, SWEDA MART) and be proficient in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Candidates should be community-focused individuals with demonstrated involvement in various non-profit organizations or local community activities, reflecting NOFRILLS' commitment to community support.
What steps are involved in the recruitment process?

Yes, candidates must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required for the program and franchise opportunities.
