The Nurse Intern position is part of a Casual Pool and will be scheduled as needed, primarily for Day shifts.

You will perform all duties under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) Preceptor.

Patient care assignments may include Neonate, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric age groups.

You need to be a Senior Level student in good standing at the UNM College of Nursing and enrolled as an intern, along with having completed a Basic Nursing Skills Course.

While it's nonessential, being bilingual in English, Spanish, Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo is preferred and counts as related experience.
What physical demands are associated with the Nurse Intern position?
The position requires heavy work, which involves exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds constantly.
Will I be required to obtain CPR certification?
Yes, you need to obtain CPR for Healthcare or BLS Provider certification within 30 days of starting the position.
