Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited RN Bachelors Degree program with graduation anticipated within 12 months of internship
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Must be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week during the duration of the summer internship program (from June 3 – August 9)
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc. will not be considered
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of clinical terminology

Responsibilities

  • Participate in functional patient care conferences and coordinate with physicians, social workers, and other members of the clinic staff to care for patients with multiple chronic diagnoses and assess social determinants of health.
  • Work with the providers and clinic staff to identify patients at high risk.
  • Perform assessment of health conditions and medication reconciliation.
  • Provide education to patients on how to manage chronic conditions.
  • Coordinate with providers to establish or update care plans.
  • Perform accurate and timely documentation in patients’ electronic medical records.
  • Perform clinical tasks within scope of practice.
