The candidate for the Patent Legal Internship - Summer 2024 at Motorola Solutions must have strong organization, leadership, and communication skills, along with the ability to create high-quality written documents. They should be autonomous, dependable, and possess good interpersonal and teamwork skills. Prior experience as a patent agent or in a law firm/in-house law department is a plus. A Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or computer science and enrollment in an accredited law school are required.

The patent legal intern will be responsible for handling copyright registration, reviewing patent information disclosures, drafting office action responses, and supporting outside counsel documentation. They will also participate in cross-disciplinary team projects and attend patent committee meetings.

<ul><li>The Patent Legal Intern will work in an innovative and collaborative Motorola Solutions Patent Strategy and Operations Center focused on a broad range of technologies, including, for example, narrow and broadband wireless technologies, device and network security, video security and access control, and software innovations including artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data, and analytics. The Patent Legal Intern will work on various projects for the Patent Strategy and Operations Department, and which will require regular interaction with MSI Patent Attorneys, Agents, Engineers, Inventors and Administrative Professionals, both inside and outside of the Chicago Patent Strategy and Operations Center. Many inventor groups are located in the United States, however, others are located internationally, including but not limited to, Canada, Poland, Malaysia, Israel, Australia, and Brazil, so some flexibility in scheduling will be required due to time zone differences.</li></ul>
