Requirements

  • Must be registered as an Extern / Intern by the Idaho State Board of Pharmacy or Oregon State Board of Pharmacy Health system and pharmacy technician experience preferred, but not required.
  • Essential functions:
  • Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions. Prepares and dispenses medication orders per physicians’ request under the direction of a licensed pharmacist. Assists pharmacists and other healthcare providers in delivering patient care and services that are within the state scope of practice for pharmacy interns.
  • Revenue management: ensures the accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to the patients. Assists the pharmacist with ensuring safe, appropriate, cost-effective medication therapies for patients according to established policies, procedures, and protocols. Contributes to the quality and effective operation of the department. Intervenes and communicates effectively with the medical staff and other health professionals.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills. Basic computer skills. Adaptable to institutional roles and schedules. Ability to create and foster a cooperative teamwork environment.

Responsibilities

  • Performs the professional functions associated with the practice of pharmacy. Works under the supervision and tutelage of registered pharmacists in accordance with the laws, rules, and regulations of the State of Idaho.
