  • The PQ Program Development Engineering Intern at Kia America, Inc. supports the Program Development Engineering team during the evaluation and validation of new model performance characteristics to meet US market North American Customer Requirements. This internship is a 10-week, full-time opportunity at Kia America’s Irvine headquarters. The position is hybrid with one remote day per week.


  • Education/Certification:
  • Enrolled in or graduated from a bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other Engineering discipline.
  • Overall Experience:
  • Prior internship experience a plus
  • Experience with SAE automotive projects preferred
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook required
  • Analytical and administrative skills required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.

Area of Responsibilities



  • Set up test vehicles for engineering instrumentation, measurement and data acquisition by.
  • Analyze execution of new technologies, including ADAS and Infotainment, through customer use analysis and benchmarking of competitor execution. Provide recommendations as to the expectations for Kia product using a customer centric approach.
  • Support ride and drive events and specific validation projects to sign off new models for production in North America plants.
  • Review customer feedback and identify opportunities for improvement to provide feedback to R&D and Quality teams.
  • Any other duties assigned by the supervisor. This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed, as necessary.
