What qualifications do I need to apply for this Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician position?
You need a minimum of 4 GCSEs grades A-C/4-9, including Maths, English Language, and two science subjects, preferably Chemistry and Biology. If you don’t possess a Science GCSE but have a Level 2 qualification in Pharmacy Services and at least two years of pharmacy experience, you can still apply.
Will I receive training and support during this position?
Yes, you will receive full support from an Educational Supervisor and qualified pharmacy assessors to help you complete the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practices for Pharmacy Technicians.
What locations will I be working at as part of this role?
You will rotate through Manchester Royal Infirmary, Wythenshawe Hospital, Trafford General Hospital, and North Manchester General Hospital.
Is this position suitable for someone who is currently working full-time?
This is a demanding role requiring at least 10 hours a week dedicated to studying in addition to your work responsibilities. It may be challenging to balance with full-time work.
What type of duties will I be responsible for in this role?
You will engage in medicines management duties, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, provide a high-quality dispensing service, and participate in medicines reconciliation and ordering medications at the ward level.
How should I document my GCSE results when applying?
Ensure that all GCSE results are clearly documented in your application. If your qualifications were obtained overseas, you must secure a NARIC certificate before the interview.
