What is the main purpose of the Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician position?
The main purpose of the position is to train individuals to become pharmacy technicians within a hospital setting, providing support to an award-winning pharmacy team.
What qualifications are required to apply for this trainee position?
Candidates should ideally hold a minimum of four GCSEs or equivalent at grade C or above, including Maths, English Language, Biology, and Chemistry or Physics (dual science awards are accepted).
Will I receive support during my training?
Yes, all Trainee Pharmacy Technicians will receive full support from an in-house Educational Supervisor, as well as a structured training program tailored to meet their needs.
What kind of training will be provided?
The training program will include online sessions delivered by pharmacy professionals from an accredited training provider, along with assessments through written assignments and observed demonstrations of competency in the workplace.
What are some of the duties I will be expected to perform?
Duties will include answering telephones, dealing with customers, maintaining and issuing stock, checking the accuracy of deliveries, labeling and assembling medication, accuracy checking dispensed medications, conducting medicines reconciliation, counseling patients, and completing additional training as required.
What is the work schedule like for this position?
The work schedule includes working weekends on a rota basis (1 in 8), occasional bank holidays, and extended shifts until 7pm.
Am I allowed to take annual leave during training days?
No, you will not be permitted to take annual leave on training days.
