Contributing to the ongoing development of automated solutions for the manufacturing of our next generation optical transport products;
Solving complex technical problems;
Working in close collaboration with other teams, such as the Optical, Hardware, Mechanical, Software, and Firmware R&D teams;
Improving the quality and robustness of manufacturing automation software.

Responsibilities

The student shall participate as a software developer on the Process Automation Software team, working on software applications & libraries in a team environment:
Support the optical alignment team by delivering new features and bug fixes to the automated alignment software application;
Work closely with process engineers on manufacturing automation, including:
Hermetic sealing, MEMS mirrors testing, Liquid Crystal on Silicon panels (LCoS) inspection, optical block alignment, diffraction grating inspection, among others
Write hardware drivers for new instrumentation and test equipment;
Become familiar with manufacturing processes, and run manufacturing tests in the lab to validate new feature development;
Work self-sufficiently or in a small team to deliver technically challenging solutions;
Applying best practices throughout the software lifecycle;
Solve complex problems in multi-disciplinary teams;
Investigate, document, and resolve software failures;
