  • How you’ll succeed:
  • Drafting contracts – You like to write in a simple and clear manner. You are interested in contracts and want to learn more about understanding the impact of contract language.
  • Relationship Building- Required to respond to assigned requests, providing professional high quality customer service for the assigned portfolio to ensure deal delivery and risk mitigation. You will liaise and interact with internal business partners, internal risk stakeholders and the Procurement team as part of the daily management of your portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • As a Procurement Associate Co-op Student you will be responsible for assisting with the communicating with suppliers and assembling CIBC’s supplier contracts. You will learn how to balance risks and requirements while learning about CIBC’s third party supplier risk management process. You will be trained in how to assemble lower-risk contracts using CIBC’s model and templates. You will also be asked to create some analytics and reporting. You’ll be asking questions and talking with suppliers and people from CIBC’s internal business units. Attention to detail is key and so is the ability to see the situation from other’s perspectives.
  • We are looking for someone who is interested in contracts and learning about managing risk. You could be looking toward a future in law or in business management.
  • Also, you will become a member of our coveted Solutions Lab where you will work as a team to bring new perspectives to existing CIBC problems and help to suggest and implement solutions that will directly help CIBC’s Procurement team.
