Requirements

  • Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in university as a full-time student pursuing a BS or MS in mechanical engineering (or related field).
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • Experience with Solidworks CAD part/assembly design and creating engineering drawings.
  • Experience with design, modeling and hands-on prototyping of electro-mechanical systems.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • MS+ in mechanical engineering or related field with at least 1 year of experience in the industry (prior internship or coop experience applicable).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional peers from a wide range of technical backgrounds.
  • Awareness of common manufacturing processes (CNC machining, 3d printing, injection molding, etc).
  • Experience developing user-facing devices that meet an array of mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, and industrial design requirements.
  • Ability to plan and execute tests to verify devices meet hardware requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Design and document electro-mechanical systems for medical applications within a quality regulated framework
  • Conceptualize, design, prototype and evaluate subsystem and system level prototypes and test fixtures.
  • Design and build fixtures to support mechanical engineering development and testing.
  • Plan and execute tests on device subsystems, and perform failure analyses.
