Responsibilities

  • Supporting the delivery of critical packages of works, including the preparation and installation of primary circuit components in the heart of the nuclear reactor.
  • Working alongside the construction and contractor teams to deliver important enabling works to allow major milestones to be achieved; including readiness of the major cranes used to build the plant.
  • Taking the lead on smaller work packages, including resolution of risks and issues, to obtain first hand experience of the range of skills required in the role and actually deliver a part of the plant’s construction journey.
  • Looking at how radiation protection supports the building and operational life of new power stations; developing the skills necessary to support a wide range of teams in order to provide advice on radiation protection.
  • Assisting in running, maintaining, and developing the condition monitoring programme throughout a plant.
  • Supporting improvements to safety through communications campaigns, training, and other improvement projects.
