Requirements

  • Education:
  • Bachelors degree or higher.
  • Currently enrolled in an APA-accredited psychology doctoral program leading to a PhD/PsyD/EdD in Clinical, Counseling, or Health Psychology.
  • Must participate in the national APPIC application process prior to applying to Kaiser Permanente.

  • Additional Requirements:
  • Successful completion of practicum placements.
  • Candidate has advanced to doctoral candidacy status for PhD, PsyD, or EdD in clinical, health, or counseling psychology in an APA-accredited program.
  • Demonstrated professional maturity and ethical integrity necessary for assuming professional responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality of service, teamwork, and participation in a highly interactive multidisciplinary clinic.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete multiple tasks/objectives in a timely manner.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in psychological assessment, diagnosis, and treatment using standard psychotherapeutic methods.
  • Previous experience in working with Adult and/or Child and Adolescent populations.
  • Successful completion of practicum placements in an outpatient mental health setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provides assessments and psychotherapy to adults, adolescents, children and/or families using evidence-based practices.
  • Conducts intake evaluations.
  • Provides crisis intervention as needed.
  • Co-facilitates psychoeducational groups.
  • Participates in community partnership activities.
  • Administers and interprets psychological and/or neuropsychological tests and writes reports.
  • Participates in regional and departmental training activities.
  • Participates in departmental administrative and educational meetings.
  • Maintains confidential patient files/records and completes documentation in a timely manner.
  • Complies with national, regional and local policies and procedures.
  • Complies with APAs Code of Ethics, California state laws and Board of Psychology regulations pertaining to the delivery of mental health services.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
