What is the primary role of the Public Transit Planning Intern?
The primary role of the Public Transit Planning Intern is to work with Iowa DOT Modal Transportation Bureau staff and a public transit agency manager to write a public transit agency safety plan, assist with data collection and analysis for disadvantaged business enterprise goal setting, and provide support for other public transit functions, including data entry.
What are the educational requirements for this internship?
Currently enrolled students in a degree program at an accredited educational institution with at least two years of completed coursework and a minimum GPA of 2.5 are eligible for this internship.
Is travel required for this internship?
Yes, some in-state travel is expected, which may include possible overnight stays.
What skills are required for this internship position?
Required skills include strong verbal communication skills, technical writing ability, experience with Microsoft Office software, analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to work both independently and in a team, a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a desire to learn and apply new skills.
What is the duration of the internship?
