Requirements

  • University Enrollment: Must be currently enrolled in and returning to a degree-seeking academic program.
  • Internship Work Period: Must be available to work full-time (approximately 40 hours per week) during a 10-12-week period starting May or June.
  • Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:
  • Currently enrolled in an Undergraduate / Master’s program in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
  • A strong understanding of design controls and engineering first principles.
  • Prior experience in an FDA-regulated industry (Medical Devices or Biotechnology) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review and assess DHF and Design Control records to ensure compliance with the state-of-the-art design control requirements and prepare to transfer product to manufacturing.
  • Evaluate and rank QMS adherence of various contract manufacturers and help in driving improvements where appropriate.
  • Generate, edit, and maintain QMS documentation, including but not limited to, departmental documents, procedures, work instructions, templates, and training materials including change control.
  • Review verification and validation / design transfer reports and identify gaps for compliance to internal quality requirements.
  • Communicating and collaborating with multiple teams and stakeholders to provide updates and provide task deliverables.
  • Presenting a project you have been involved with and lessons learned to the organization.
