Responsibilities

  • In a research and development laboratory setting, the Intern will perform preparation and installation of consumables and reagents required for medical instrumentation, analysis of clinical blood samples, quality control assessment, related data analysis, and preparation of reports.
  • A senior scientific mentor will provide the Intern with required training regarding the instrumentation and consumable product line. We expect the intern to gain in-depth knowledge of the product and its associated processes, to participate and present in team meetings, and to attend weekly department meetings with the larger group.
  • The Intern will be trained on and expected to perform the required operational tasks and workflow in a Biosafety Level 2 laboratory environment with proper biosafety technique and personal protective equipment.
  • Review process procedures, change orders, equipment specifications, validation plans, and reports.
  • Performs research on technology, equipment and tooling to improve process quality, yield or cost. Generates proposals based on research.
  • Performs experiments, analyzes and interprets numerical data from experiments.
  • Summarizes findings by computer readouts, statistical summaries, graphs and other methods.
