Requirements

  • Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering at an accredited University.
  • Interested in computer programming and the ability to analyze and visualize large dataset are desirable.
  • Interested in and motivated to learn railway timetabling and simulation software.
  • Strong organization, interpersonal, communication, problem solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision.
  • Self-motivated and have a strong interest in rail operation.
  • Competencies (knowledge, skill, attributes):
  • Good understanding of engineering and business fundamentals as they apply to engineering problems and projects.
  • Ability to learn quickly and to take on new challenges.
  • Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supports rail network simulation by organizing infrastructure design and timetable data provided by stakeholders.
  • Develops spreadsheets or software programs to accelerate/automate the review of simulation data.
  • Assists in producing reports, presentations, and engineering documentations based on simulation results.
  • Participates in a variety of rail network analyses, studies, simulation model development or optimization, and technical report generation addressing a wide range of operating, infrastructure and performance improvement.
  • Participates in training on railway engineering components such as trackwork, signaling, rolling stock, timetabling, stabling, etc.
  • Participates in discussions on railway designs and timetabling with internal and external stakeholders.
