Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in university as a full-time student with an anticipated graduation date on or before the end of 2025.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • Completed projects (inside or outside of school) or classes focused on Data Structures and Algorithms; experience with algorithms, using data structures to solve problems, and interpreting algorithms and contributing ideas to their development.
  • Experience writing code and tools to solve problems using basic language features (e.g. data structures, branching, function-calls, and conditionals) and programming paradigms (e.g. imperative, object-oriented) in one or more of the following languages: Golang, Python, TypeScript, Java, or C++ (e.g. remove duplicate elements from a list).
  • Enrolled in a Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Previous tech internships or demonstrated work experience (i.e. research assistant, teaching assistant, personal projects, etc.) with programming in two or more of the following languages: Golang, Python, or TypeScript.
  • Ability to develop thorough testing solutions across testing layers (e.g., unit, functional, integration, stress testing) for your code, using one or more of the following languages: Golang, Python, or TypeScript.
  • Ability to manipulate code to improve system availability and latency and optimize code for stability, functionality and scalability.

Responsibilities

  • Apply knowledge gained in Computer Science courses to real-world problems.
  • Analyze technical problems, compare alternative solutions, design and implement the best solution to effectively solve problems.
  • Contribute to capabilities that leverage state-of-the-art cloud-native open source components (e.g. Kubernetes, Backstage, ArgoCD, Terraform).
  • Build tools and systems to enable new features and automate routine tasks.
  • Work with a productive and innovative team. This includes working with peers, managers, and other Verily teams.
