Requirements

  • To be eligible for this opportunity, you must currently be studying for a degree in a STEM subject (Engineering, Computer Science, Biomedical, or similar), which accommodates a Year in Industry, and have an interest in building a career in Systems Engineering.
  • The ideal candidate will be a proactive individual who takes initiative and is able to work within a team and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • You will need to have good oral and written communication skills to be able to prepare reports and technical documents.
  • You must be organised and flexible in your approach to work, with good attention to detail in order to ensure that data and analyses are accurate and meet the requirements of the project.
  • We’re looking for someone who is passionate around STEM, and keen to pursue their career in the Medical Devices sector.

Responsibilities

  • Tasks to support system development in a highly regulated environment, including testing, validation, and operational support; aligning to defined team & business goals.
  • Align system development with both technical and non-technical business stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance within a highly regulated medical device environment through detail-oriented task delivery.
  • Computerised System Validation and System Lifecycle management.
  • Industry 4.0 technologies, such as IoT, and may include opportunities for Machine Learning, AI algorithm design, cloud architecture and data migration.
  • Cybersecurity – supporting plan development and assessments.
  • Automated software testing and SQL Database querying.
  • Supporting manufacturing through machine monitoring system development.

What is the duration of the internship?

The internship is a 13-month placement starting in summer 2025.

What qualifications are required to apply for this internship?

You must be currently studying for a degree in a STEM subject (Engineering, Computer Science, Biomedical, or similar) that accommodates a Year in Industry, and have an interest in building a career in Systems Engineering.

When is the closing date for applications?

The closing date for applications is 9th February 2025.

Where will the interviews take place?

Interviews will be conducted in person at our Witney site.

What projects will I be working on during the internship?

You will be working on impactful projects related to software systems to support the manufacture and testing of ADC's FreeStyle Libre glucose monitoring devices.

Is experience in a highly regulated environment required?

While previous experience is beneficial, it is not a strict requirement. However, you should be prepared to deliver tasks in a highly regulated medical device environment.

Will I have access to senior leadership during my internship?

Yes, you will have regular access to senior leadership, providing you with opportunities to learn and grow from experienced professionals.
