What is the duration of the SPARK Work Experience Programme?
The SPARK Work Experience Programme lasts for 9 months, starting on 1st May 2025.
Who is eligible to apply for the SPARK programme?
SPARK is open to first year law students, second year students of a four-year law degree, or penultimate year non-law students.
What is the application process for this programme?
The application process involves completing an online application form, taking the Watson Glaser critical reasoning test, having your application reviewed by the recruitment team, and, if successful, participating in a recorded video interview followed by an in-person assessment day.
What is the weekly pay for participants in the programme?
Elements of the programme are paid at £500 per week, and travel and accommodation costs may also be supported where applicable.
What type of training will participants receive during the programme?
Participants will receive training that includes classroom-based learning, skills development, shadowing lawyers, and dedicated training sessions aimed at enhancing professional development.
When are the key dates for the programme?
Key dates include the launch on 1st May 2025, insights from 30th June to 4th July 2025, shadowing from 7th to 11th July or 14th to 18th July 2025, and skills/action sessions on 9th to 10th September 2025.
Will participants have mentors during the programme?
Yes, each participant will be assigned a dedicated newly qualified lawyer buddy for support and guidance throughout the programme.
What is the location for the in-person components of the programme?
The in-person elements will take place at our offices in Canary Wharf, London.
What skills or attributes are sought from applicants?
Applicants should demonstrate business awareness, problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, leadership and collaboration skills, and a genuine desire to learn and progress within the firm.
