Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Business and Management or a degree in Interior Design/ Architecture.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel (including macros and VBA programming), and Word.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to extract, manipulate, and simplify data.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Adaptability to a fast-paced environment and willingness to learn new tools and techniques.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to travel within the GTA and Waterloo region as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Senior Sustainability Manager and Workplace Strategy team on data collection, analysis, and reporting to support Sun Life’s sustainability goals and workplace design projects.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, space planning exercises, and office space surveys to inform corporate office designs and layouts.
  • Provide consultation to internal stakeholders, ensuring adherence to corporate standards and facilitating effective communication between teams.
  • Utilize AutoCAD, Excel, and other tools to prepare build files, update drawings, and input data into our Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS).
  • Assist in the creation of custom Excel reports and presentations for clients, leveraging existing databases and reporting structures.
  • Develop preliminary feasibility designs and space planning exercises for corporate office spaces
  • Work alongside senior designers and Sustainability and Strategy Analyst on a wide range of projects while maintaining service levels for all operational requests.
  • AutoCAD updates for reconfigurations within drawings managed through CAFM
  • The student is responsible for data collection, data entering and management, and analysis supporting the development and implementation of Sun Life’s reporting requirements on key sustainability goals and programs in alignment with business plans and goals.
  • Liasing and building rapport with internal and external stakeholders of various backgrounds.
  • Performing task management and project management duties to ensure seamless stakeholder engagement and up-to-date data repositories.
  • Assisting in developing Quarterly Sustainability reports for Senior HR Executives and other CRE sustainability oral and written communication deliverables.
  • Periodically assisting CRE’s Workplace Strategy team with administrative duties as necessary.
