Requirements

  • Currently enrolled at an accredited university.
  • Completed at least 45 credit hours.
  • Minimum of 2.8 GPA.
  • Must have experience developing software applications.
  • Must have knowledge of human factors issues and solutions.
  • Self-motivated, team player and adaptability to a dynamic environment and the ability to complete all assignments as required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and be expected to effectively interact with customers and management at all levels.
  • Ability to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetings.
  • Ability to visualize and work with complex systems and work with others in problem solving as part of a team.
  • Must be able to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and schedules with limited supervision.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
  • Proficiency with team collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams or WebEx.
  • Requisition Preferences:​
  • Must be a student enrolled in a graduate program of an ABET accredited engineering or Computer Science program.
  • Interest in human spaceflight and human technology development.
  • Working knowledge of coding languages including C.
  • Demonstrated skills in scripting languages such as Python.
  • Software design background for human machine interaction including Graphical User Interfaces.
  • Coursework in Human Factors design.
  • Test planning and execution experience.

Responsibilities

  • Learn NASA processes, interact with stakeholders, and actively engage in human factors and system management design.
  • The expected role will include Human-in-the-Loop test planning, performance of tests, data analysis as well as documenting test results.
  • These results may prompt design changes that the intern will help determine.
  • This may include documentation updates, interface changes between teams, and help create the best human interactions possible with the automated control system for the Lunar Gateway.
  • Perform other duties as required.
