Responsibilities

  • Under the direct supervision of the Managers of the convention center, the candidate will receive instruction in the planning, scheduling, and supervising of an effective, safe, and profitable event within the departments.
  • The candidate will also support the Banquet Manager in the day-to-day operation of the Food & Beverage Department, including learning and operating the point of sale system, receiving orders, and assisting with inventory controls and daily stocking.
  • The candidate will support the Operations Manager in the day-to-day operation of the event setups, function, tear down and cleaning.
  • The candidate should have an interest in, the planning and scheduling of employees. Additionally, experience with inventory management and familiarity with the state food safety and state liquor laws pertaining to the storage, handling, and preparation and the dispensing of food and beverages.
  • The candidate will learn details associated with those situations from meetings to larger groups of conventions organizing, logistics of movement between same day functions and next groups.
