Requirements

  • Essential skills and experience:
  • Currently enrolled in high school with an anticipated graduation date of June 2025 or sooner.
  • Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week and commute to and from our Chicago, IL office over a 6–8-week period.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Self-Starter, proactive, able to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions and meet deadlines
  • Valued but not required skills and experience:
  • Planning to attend a college or university in pursuit of a Bachelor of Science Degree in an Engineering discipline (i.e., Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil) in Fall 2025.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within school and/or the community
  • Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • As a Support Intern you will assist various engineers within the Electric Grid Infrastructure Group to build or expand your background in one or more of the following areas:
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
  • Work on a variety of tasks associated with project reporting, such as tracking and evaluating project activities, project progress, and associated data.
  • Be involved in power designs and the preparation of specifications for the procurement of major power equipment and related installation services.
  • Gain experience using various CAD applications
