What is the Verizon Thrive Apprenticeship Program?
The Verizon Thrive Apprenticeship Program is a 12-month paid training program designed for candidates who are currently enrolled in a pre-apprenticeship bootcamp or similar training, and who are interested in pursuing an apprenticeship with the potential to convert into a full-time permanent role upon successful completion of the program.
What kind of work will I be doing during the apprenticeship?
During the apprenticeship, you will work on high-impact projects across various teams within Verizon, focusing on data analytics and data engineering tasks, such as data cleaning, data mining, and analysis using tools like SQL, Python, Tableau, and more.
What qualifications do I need to apply?
You need to have a high school diploma or GED, and either an associate’s degree or one or more years of relevant work experience. Additionally, you must be authorized to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.
Is prior experience in technology required?
While it's not strictly required, having a demonstrated interest in technology is beneficial, as well as familiarity with Google Slides, Docs, and Sheets.
How many hours per week will I be expected to work?
You will be expected to work a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week throughout the apprenticeship.
Will I receive mentorship during the program?
Yes, you will work with technical staff and mentors who will help you learn workplace skills and tools specific to your role during the apprenticeship.
Do I need to be available for on-call support outside of working hours?
Yes, you should be flexible and willing to support tools already in production outside of working hours as needed.
Is there a possibility of conversion to a full-time position after the program?
Yes, there is potential for conversion to a full-time permanent role upon successful completion of the apprenticeship program.
What is the work environment like for this position?
This is a hybrid role, which includes both work-from-home flexibility and a minimum of eight assigned office days per month, as set by your manager.
