What is the main purpose of the Trainee Children's Wellbeing Practitioner role?
The main purpose of the Trainee Children's Wellbeing Practitioner role is to provide training and support within the RISE Specialist Mental Health Services for Children and Young People, while also delivering low intensity cognitive behavioural approaches to children and adolescents experiencing mild to moderate anxiety or depression.
What qualifications will I pursue in this position?
You will be enrolled in a graduate certificate or postgraduate certificate training program focused on delivering the national curriculum for Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioners.
What type of supervision will I receive during my training?
You will work under close supervision with regular course assessments of practice competence throughout your training.
Who will I be working with in this role?
You will work primarily with children and adolescents experiencing anxiety or depression, as well as parents of children facing anxiety disorders and/or behavioral difficulties.
What types of interventions will I be using?
You will use theory-informed and psychologically informed interventions, particularly those aligned to cognitive-behavioral principles based on the best available evidence.
