What is the role of a Trainee Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP)?
The role involves delivering evidence-based early interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health problems, supporting staff in educational settings to manage mental health issues, and helping those with more severe problems access specialist services.
Where will the training take place?
The training will take place at the University of Southampton.
What are the qualifications required for this position?
Applicants must demonstrate the ability to work at degree level or possess an equivalent level of relevant experience. Experience working with children and young people and knowledge of the educational system in England is highly desirable.
What is the duration of the training program?
The training program lasts for 12 months and will consist of both academic learning and supervised practice.
What will be the employment status during the training?
Successful candidates will be employed full-time by Oxford Health while undertaking their training.
What will the salary be during the training period?
The position will be funded at the NHS Agenda for Change (AfC) Band 4 level during training.
What happens after successful completion of the training?
Upon successful completion of the training, candidates will be offered a permanent EMHP position with a starting salary projected on the NHS AfC Band 5 scale.
What are the working locations for this position?
The post holders will be based within schools in Buckinghamshire, but may also be required to travel to the University of Southampton for teaching purposes.
