  • Appropriate post qualification experience in imaging
  • Relevant clinical courses
  • Quality assurance supervision and practice
  • Sound knowledge of all areas of Governance including H&S, COSHH, Manual Handling
  • Experience of teaching, mentoring, and supporting colleagues training and development
  • To be able to respond appropriately to distressed patients and staff and distressing circumstances e.g. suspected physical abuse, major trauma, cancer and death

Responsibilities

  • Learn to perform general medical ultrasound scans and write diagnostic reports to a safe and high standard, in line with department protocols and trust policies, under the supervision of an experienced ultrasound practitioner.
  • Complete a post graduate certificate (PgC) in General Medical Ultrasound. Rotate through the main adult and paediatric ultrasound departments at SGH and RSH sites for clinical training lists and complete associated competencies.
  • To participate in multi-disciplinary team working.
