  • VHB’s Raleigh, NC team is looking for a talented Transportation Design Intern to join us this summer! This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic team across diverse disciplines, giving you exposure to a wide variety of projects in size and scope.
  • VHB’s Transportation Design Team provides services for state DOTs and local municipalities. Typical projects include roadway widening, intersection design, interchange design, and bicycle and pedestrian design projects.
  • Additionally, through VHB’s Mid-Atlantic Intern Program, you will get to learn more about the industry, meet team leaders from multiple disciplines, and collaborate with interns from other offices to gain a holistic understanding of the work going on at VHB.


  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to independently perform multiple tasks and interact appropriately and positively with coworkers.
  • Self-motivated with attention to detail.
  • A strong work ethic and a desire to learn and achieve.
  • Familiarity with transportation and highway engineering principles and resources.
  • Experience using CAD software (MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD/Civil3D) is a plus.
  • Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or master’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
