Requirements

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to independently perform multiple tasks and interact appropriately and positively with coworkers
  • Self-motivated with attention to detail
  • Familiarity with transportation planning principles and resources
  • Team oriented with strong capability to work independently
  • Eager to learn about the field of transportation planning and safety in a professional setting
  • Experience using ArcGIS platforms and Adobe software a plus
  • Qualifications:
  • Pursuing an undergraduate or master’s degree in urban or regional planning, urban design, public health, geography, civil engineering or related field

Responsibilities

  • Use and create geospatial multimodal transportation data
  • Create documents and manipulate data
  • Conduct routine planning assessments using analytical tools such as GIS to evaluate data, identify trends, and develop documentation to summarize results and recommendations
  • Prepare client-ready materials for presentations or client meetings
  • Research topics and summarize findings for planning projects
  • Effectively interact with VHB staff to advance projects in a timely manner
