Requirements

  • 18 years or older
  • Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s Degree program from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
  • Completion of one year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing
  • Enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s degree program following the potential internship or co-op assignment with an accredited college or university
  • Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
  • Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship OR co-op
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Majoring in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or related fields.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong writing and social media competence.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to fast changing business priorities.
  • Knowledge in design programs like Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools to create visually appealing graphics, presentations, and other assets.
  • Forward thinker, problem solver, responsive, and creative.
  • Interest in public health, community health, science communications, health equity, health policy, health communications, DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion), and/or other related fields

Responsibilities

  • Support the strategic development, implementation and management of integrated communications and media to help drive business priorities.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to conceptualize R&D communications initiatives to support business objectives and elevate and reinforce Amgen’s science reputation and presence.
  • Create visually compelling content for social media posts, internal communications, and other company communications.
  • Assist in maintaining R&D communications social media, intranet, and communications calendars.
  • Anticipate, identify, and report trends in the industry and media that impact Amgen operations.
  • Partner with R&D and scientific subject matter experts to gather insights and inform R&D communications content and strategy.
  • Complete and present a turning point project that addresses current topics in the industry.
