  • Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s Degree program from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
  • Completion of one year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing
  • Enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s degree program following the potential internship with an accredited college or university
  • Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
  • Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, applied math, data science, or a related field of study
  • Programming experience in Python, MATLAB, or R
  • Experience with mathematical or computational modeling
  • Experience with data engineering tools and technologies (e.g. SQL, Databricks, S3, etc.)
  • Familiarity with data science techniques and best practices
  • Understanding of biopharmaceutical processes, unit operations, and drug delivery devices
  • Good interdisciplinary and communication skills
  • Ability to independently uncover and resolve issues associated with the implementation of scientific and engineering projects

Responsibilities

  • Your role will involve the use of fundamentals principles (i.e., transport phenomena, reaction kinetics, thermodynamics, etc.) along with the application of data science techniques to address various challenging problems. These problems may span modeling of synthetic chemical processes and bioprocesses (i.e., drug substance, drug product).
  • Your responsibilities will include applying pre-existing models, identifying opportunities for enhancing accuracy and performance, and advancing the creation of data assets from these models for use across the organization.
  • Collaboration with internal stakeholders will be a key aspect of this role. You will document and communicate the technical basis of these in silico models and data assets for the benefit of engineers and scientists involved in delivering processes to Operations.
  • Experience with programming in Python, MATLAB, or R is required. Familiarity with mathematical modeling, machine learning, or biopharmaceuticals is highly desired.
