Responsibilities

  • Communications - Corporate Social Responsibility, Events & Special Projects:
  • The Global Communications department oversees the company’s worldwide philanthropic efforts including Universal Music Group’s All Together Now Foundation, Green Team and Unhoused Coalition, major internal and external events, and special projects.
  • The intern in the Global Communications department will assist the team with various projects relating to the company’s philanthropic efforts, internal and external events, and special projects.
  • These tasks include but are not limited to monitoring and compiling company and artist press
  • Completing artist and philanthropic research and reports
  • Assistance in the planning of company and industry wide events and special projects including UMG’s GRAMMY Awards Showcase and the UMusic Hotels
  • Assistance with various office administrative duties. The intern will attend weekly department meetings, developing a knowledge of the communications core of Universal Music Group.
  • Consumer Marketing - Audience Development:
  • The Audience Development team manages owned audiences for artists primarily in email and SMS marketing. This internship will focus on the more ecommerce oriented groups of artists, where the primary business goal is driving ecommerce revenue from merch sales.

  • Consumer Marketing - Marketing Strategy:
  • The Marketing Strategy team is a growing org within Global Consumer Marketing that builds and manages centrally-run marketing programs. Our goal is to build integrated marketing strategies that drive incremental sales, streams, and audiences for artists, labels and e-commerce partners. We bring cross-functional teams across UMG together to build meaningful marketing programs that amplify our partners existing marketing plans through consumer insights, creativity, innovation, and technology.
  • The Marketing Operations Intern will sit on the Consumer Marketing Strategy team, part of the Global Consumer Marketing Group at the center of UMG. This role is an integral part of the team, supporting priority initiatives and special projects run through the Marketing Strategy group in collaboration with other cross functional teams. The ideal candidate is a creative problem solver, analytical, detail oriented and ready to take initiative.
  • Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Support team with asset management & request workflows, project organization and project trafficking
  • Support in building out processes & workflows, marketing plan templates and assist with recaps
  • Provide analytics support and campaign performance insights across Marketing Strategy campaigns to help drive campaign efficiency and results
  • Keep abreast of existing and emerging media and marketing trends, delivering relevant updates to Marketing Strategy team
  • Attend relevant marketing meetings, take notes and manage follow-ups to ensure step-by-step completion for Marketing projects
  • Communicate and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including Audience Development, Insights, Media Strategy, Digital Innovation, MS&T, and Commercial Innovation & Artist Strategy
  • Consumer Marketing - Global Media:
  • The Consumer Marketing team at Universal Music Group is looking for an Intern for our in-house media team to support the team’s media buying and strategy efforts. The Global Media Buying Team works across all UMG labels and Partner Labels to execute media buys, assist in media planning, analyze campaign performance to develop best practices and case studies, and guide and improve the strategy of the Digital Media teams.
  • Join UMG label and partner label calls – help with agenda creation, note taking, media planning, and analysis.
  • Pull stats/helping prep for label meetings
  • Collaborate with Measurement Team on new testing opportunities and develop a case study
  • Execute a campaign from Planning Phase > Execution > Recap
  • Collaborate with Programmatic Lead on new vendor opportunities, help build out directory.
  • Create retargeting Audiences in FB/IG

  • Checking approval status for campaigns, flag if any creatives are disapproved

  • Brainstorm marketing creative content for ongoing/upcoming releases

  • Sound Creator Program - using data to find creators on social platforms to make new remixes of universal music artists catalog.
