Responsibilities

  • The intern will actively train on meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor and with senior company leadership. The intern will be assigned special projects as needed.
  • At the end of four months, the intern will be able to develop skills needed to schedule, track, assess, and repair rakes, steering/suspension, engine repair, electrical systems, heating/air conditioning and automatic transmissions, truck mechanics and diesel engine specialists.
  • The intern will develop a good understanding of advance automobile technician skills. This includes: Familiarity with schedule, track, assess, and repair equipment. Planning and scheduling of Navy Preventive Maintenance Systems, both ashore and afloat. Advanced diagnostics and repair. Collaboration/Coordination with Ships Force to provide a "Hands On" approach/ technique specific to the Sailors individual strengths.
  • Mission Technologies will benefit from the military background of the Skillbridge intern and considers the Skillbridge internship an overall positive experience.
  • Skillbridge Intern will be available during core hours (7:30 AM to 4:00 PM) for critical meetings and training.
  • Collaborate/Coordinate with Contractors/Ships Force to complete mechanical and electrical system maintenance checks on board and report assigned/designated Civil Engineering Support Equipment (CESE).
  • Collaborate/Coordinate with users/Ships Force to perform mechanical and electrical system maintenance checks on board and report assigned/designated Civil Engineering Support Equipment (CESE) with Team Lead or Senior technician.
  • By direction of Team Lead provide mechanical and electrical system maintenance with customer/Ships Force in the field.
  • Shadow Team Lead or Senior technician with a close out and op-test of equipment in the field.
  • Collaborate/Coordinate with users/Ships Force to perform mechanical and electrical system maintenance checks on Civil Engineering End Items (CEEI).
  • Collaborate/Coordinate with users/Ships Force to perform inspection and repair of Hatch Boxes, and ISO and ISU cargo containers to determine project scope, repairs, and necessary replacements in accordance with approved work requests.
  • Assessments to include an engineering analysis of TOA systems, as well as components and sub-components to determine system compatibility.
  • TOA systems and sub-systems that fail compatibility assessments will be reported to the government with an engineering analysis of the deficiencies and recommendations for correction.
  • Support Collateral equipment program for all CESE assigned in accordance with the COMNECC/COMNECCPACINST 4590.1 series. Assist the Collateral custodian and shall create a CB 60 form for each USN#. The contractor shall ensure that all collateral equipment is either properly mounted on the equipment or properly stored and preserved and that all locations are annotated on the appropriate CB60 form.
  • Complete and submit Technical Feedback Reports for identified CESE outlining deficiencies with prescribed maintenance, procedural errors, improvement in quality.
  • Develop Automotive Technician for training in material removal for field work.
  • Participate in mission planning meetings and provide feedback on tools, schedule, tracking, assessments, and repair of equipment. Serviceability inspections and preventative maintenance with "Hands On" approach/ technique specific to the Sailors individual strengths. Collaborate/Coordinate with users/Ships Force.
