Requirements

  • Required Qualifications & Skills:
  • Experience using Python or equivalent languages and/or tools for training and deployment of AI models.
  • Experience with Machine Learning and tools such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Spark as well as ML model development and implementation.
  • Ability to process structured, semi-structured and unstructured data
  • Ability to use tools like Nvidia Isaac Sim to generate synthetic data
  • Ability to use image sequences and video to generate annotation data for self-supervised and semi-self-supervised Ai model training datasets
  • Demonstrated history of software development projects that showcase one’s ability to design, debug, document, test, and problem solve software solutions
  • Ability to assist in the rapid development of high-quality deliverables on tight timelines while maintaining keen attention to detail
  • Time management skills with the ability to work on multiple tasks and shifting priorities amidst a dynamic and constantly changing innovation environment
  • Positivity, flexibility, and resilience to persevere through multiple iterations, failures as well as successes, in the pursuit of accomplishing the toughest technical or creative challenges without apparent, immediate solutions
  • An understanding of ethical AI principles and how to apply them to dataset and model creation, model testing and deployment.
  • Ability to debug AI model performance through statistical analysis, visualization, and other approaches
  • Linux systems familiarity and proficiency
  • Docker image building and container usage proficiency
  • Demonstrated core understanding of computer vision concepts, such as lens intrinsics and extrinsics.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience training 6-dof object pose estimators.
  • Experience training human keypoint detectors or human pose estimators.
  • Experience employing techniques to optimize and reduce neural networks for memory footprint and run-time performance.
  • Understanding of the principles of dataset creation, including dataset design, collection, annotation, quality assurance and verification.
  • Experience Developing Localization and Mapping Applications
  • Education:
  • Working towards a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related subject areas with a demonstrable focus on artificial intelligence methodologies
  • Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
  • Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization.
  • Provide own housing for the duration internship program in the Glendale, CA area
  • Have reliable transportation to/from work

  • The approximate dates of this internship are May/June 2024 through August/September 2024

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of new Walt Disney Imagineering R&D experience and technology concepts through vision focused AI software development to help build and support small and large-scale interactive prototypes, mockups, playtesting, and park installs using a variety of industry-standard and Disney-proprietary software and hardware tools.
  • Develops Vision focused AI software solutions by analyzing the goals of the project, studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes.
  • Construct and analyze the graphs and architectures of vision focused AI models
  • Manage and curate large datasets for training of AI models.
  • Use tools like Isaac Sim to generate synthetic data for training AI models.
  • Documents solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.
  • Collaborate across diverse cross-functional teams, always communicating clearly and with a positive and inclusive attitude.
  • Installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
  • Use code collaboration tools like github and gitlab to capture and evolve software solutions
