What is the main role of the Cancer Coordinator?
The main role of the Cancer Coordinator is to provide advice and support for individuals affected by cancer, acting as a consistent point of contact for those referred on an urgent suspected cancer pathway or diagnosed with cancer, and carrying a defined caseload to ensure timely access to appointments, follow-ups, and support services.
Is this position suitable for secondment?
Yes, this post may be suitable for secondment, subject to agreement by your line manager.
What qualifications are required for this role?
Applicants should have evidence of working in health and social care with individuals who have complex cancer needs, as well as clinical competencies to at least SVQ3. An ability and desire to undertake further learning at SVQ level 8 is also required.
What are the working hours for this position?
The working week is being reduced from 37.5 to 37 hours, effective from 1 April 2024, with a possibility of working an additional 30 minutes temporarily until the service adjusts to the new working hours.
