What is the main role of the Administrator supporting the Asthma Nurse?
The main role is to provide effective administration support, including coordination of outpatient appointments and managing a database for the asthma nurse within the Acute Paediatric team.
What are the preferred working days for this position?
Ideally, we are looking for the post holder to work Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, but other working patterns can be considered.
Is prior experience in the NHS required?
An understanding of the NHS is desirable, but not strictly required.
What IT skills are necessary for this role?
Proficiency in using a word processing package, preferably Microsoft Word, along with excellent keyboard skills, is necessary.
How does the organization support staff development?

What is the procedure for dealing with patient referrals?
All referrals must be entered onto the Lorenzo system according to the date of receipt, and they should be regularly passed to clinicians to assign appointment priority.
How should telephone inquiries be handled?
Telephone calls must be managed by addressing all relevant issues or accurately recording and passing on messages to the appropriate person/s.
