What is the duration of the CESR fellowship training programme?
The CESR fellowship training programme is a 'run through' 3-year training scheme.
When do the fellowship positions commence?
The positions commence on 5 February 2025 for one fellow and on 6 August 2025 for two fellows.
What are the key requirements to apply for this fellowship?
Applicants should be fully registered with the GMC, have an FRCA or equivalent qualification, and possess at least 2 years of anaesthetic experience in the NHS at the time of the interview.
Where will the fellows be placed during the training programme?
The fellows will rotate through four hospital sites: St Bartholomew's Hospital, Newham University Hospital, Whipps Cross Hospital, and The Royal London Hospital.
What support will fellows receive during the fellowship?
Each fellow will be accountable to the Clinical Director at their site, with Clinical Supervisors and Educational Supervisors allocated upon commencement of the job.
What is the goal of the training programme?
The programme aims to develop the necessary competencies and collect required portfolio evidence to support an application for GMC Specialist Registration via the CESR route.
Are there future job opportunities within the Trust after completing the fellowship?
Yes, upon successful completion of the 3-year programme, fellows will have the opportunity to apply for one of the Trust-wide Fellow posts while awaiting the CESR application process by the GMC.
